With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Marylynn Diane Wafer Ackerman of Albuquerque, New Mexico, who passed away on March 20, 2025 at the age of 75. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Marylynn Diane Wafer Ackerman to pay them a last tribute.

She was predeceased by: her husband Richard Ackerman; her parents, Rita Wafer and Marvin Wafer Sr.; and her brothers, Mick (Marie Wafer), Tom (Donna Wafer) and Dave (Sally Wafer).

She is survived by: her children, Diana (David Kelch), Tanya (Jeremy Franchell) and Robert Ackerman; her grandchildren, Matt Ackerman, Gus Kelch, Mikayla Ackerman, Kameron Ackerman, Audrey Kelch and James Franchell; her great grandchild Maisyn Ackerman; and her siblings, Russ (Cynthia Wafer), Lorri Wafer, Don (Chris Wafer), Bill (Barbara Wafer) and Rick Wafer. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life was held on Friday, March 28th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Sagebrush Church-Uptown (1613 Arizona St NE, Albuquerque, NM 87110).

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to the (Rheumatoid) Arthritis Foundation, Home Office 1355 Peachtree St NE Suite 600.

“The Wafer family was very well known and highly respected. For those of us who were friends with the "Wafer Boys" back in the day, particularly David, we all knew Marylynn to be one of the sweetest and most beloved "little sisters" on the West Mesa! She and David were very close. I was very blessed to share a friendship with them. I hope the family finds comfort in knowing that they are all together in Heaven, at peace and sharing God's love.”
