He was predeceased by: his parents, Leon Ward and Nettie Mae Ward; his brothers, Lee Earl Ward and Gene Leartis Ward; and his son Ronald Derrick Ward.
He is survived by: his wife Hilda Ward; his daughters, Debbie Douglas (Kirk) and Liniese Ward; his siblings, Florence Ward and Gerald Ward; and his grandchildren, Carlette Young (Jeff), Kirk Douglas Jr., Lacretia Stevenson (John), Iesha Odom (Terrence) and Dion Douglas. He is also survived by grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
