He is survived by: his siblings, Theodore Ponder (Ted), Francis Ponder (Big Boy), Ella Mae Boyd, Obera Martin, Alta Pettis and Ruth of Washington; his son Quique E. L; his wife Elodia Johnson; and his daughters, Edna Dallas, Marita Ponder, Dannetta, Linda, Janice Going, Lisa Ponder and Christy Ponder Going. He is also survived by grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
