With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Jose Valdez (Albuquerque, New Mexico), born in Cuba, New Mexico, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on March 21, 2025 at the age of 86. He was predeceased by: his parents, Rosalio Valdez and Onofre Valdez; and his siblings, Margaret Baca, Alice Tenorio, Gloria Ann Valdez, Mary Ann Ealy and Chris Valdez.
He is survived by: his wife Evelyn Valdez; his children, Benny Valdez, Jr., Monica Tanny (Greg) and Lynda Parra (Art Simoni); his siblings, Rosalio Valdez, Jr., Bobby Valdez (Patsy), Tony Valdez (Hilda) and Patricia Diggins (Frank); his grandchildren, Michael Tanny (Alyssa), Matthew Valdez (Erika), Alexandra Simoni, Olivia Miller (Patrick), Luna Simoni, Chris Valdez (Liza), Ava Parra, Whylie Yazzie and Reina Valdez; and his great grandchildren, Aubree Tanny, Logan Tanny, Brynlee Tanny, Colton Tanny, Eli Valdez and Cruz Valdez. He is also survived by his family, friends.
A rosary was held on Sunday, March 30th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church (5415 Fortuna Rd NW, Albuquerque, NM 87105). A Mass was held on Monday, March 31st 2025 at 9:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, March 31st 2025 at the Mount Calvary Cemetery (1900 Edith Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87102).
