John Wirth Jr. Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Wirth Jr. (Albuquerque, New Mexico), who passed away on March 9, 2020, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by : his brother Charles Wirth. He is survived by : his significant other Billie Jean; his daughters, Dawn Montemagni (Brian), Gwenn Denise Stone of San Diego, CA and Kerri Reischl (Phillip) of Scottsdale, AZ; his grandchildren, Ryan Hill, Samuel Brannigan Stone, Kierstin Reischl, Easton Reischl, Nick Montemagni and Noelle Montemagni; his sister Georgette Wirth-Salander of Norwalk, CT; his nephew Jens Salander; his sister Fran Rush (Bob) of Plymouth, MA; his nephew Michael Rush; his niece Katie Bresnehan (Patrick); his sister Rose Schoeller (Kevin) of Bethel, CT; his nephews, Jason Schoeller (Cindy), Jeremy Schoeller (Patty) and Charles Wirth (Carmen); and his niece Jessica McIntyre (Brandon).

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations may be given in John 's honor to Stevens Institute of Technology, directed to the Class of 1964 Endowed Scholarship or call the Alumni Office at 201-216-5163.

“I recently learned of John's passing and was saddened by this news. I first met John when he opened his store on Menaul. I distinctly remember meeting John, who was at that time, working the floor. He was genuinely interested in my questions and how he could help me. Funny how some things just remain with us. Anyway, I came away thinking how John was a really good person, simply from that interaction. Needless to say, I remained a customer of WWS for many years. Bill Baca, Placitas”
