With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Gilbert Duran of Albuquerque, New Mexico, who passed away on April 9, 2025. Family and friends can send flowers and condolences in memory of the loved one. He was predeceased by: his wife Mary Lou Duran; his siblings, Louie Duran and Herman Duran (Clara); and his parents, Joe Duran and Valentina Duran.
He is survived by: his daughters, Elizabeth Apodaca (John Bloomfield) and Nadine Duran (John Chavez); his grandchildren, Ronnie Apodaca (Jim Wiley), Angelica Stanley (Ryan) and Jonnae Chavez; his great grandchildren, Jordan Stanley and Roman Stanley; and his sister Betty Chavez (Pete). He is also survived by several nieces, nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 24th 2025 from 6:30 PM to 7:00 PM and on Friday, April 25th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM. A rosary will be held on Thursday, April 24th 2025 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Gabaldon Mortuary (1000 Old Coors Dr SW, Albuquerque, NM 87121). A Mass will be held on Friday, April 25th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the San Felipe de Neri Catholic Church (2005 N Plaza St NW, Albuquerque, NM 87104). A burial will be held on Monday, April 28th 2025 at 2:30 PM at the Santa Fe National Cemetery (501 N Guadalupe St, Santa Fe, NM 87501).
