He was predeceased by: his parents, Elias Atencio and Frances Atencio; and his siblings, Delia Garcia (Ronnie), Robert "Bobby" Atencio and Daniel "Juni" Atencio.
He is survived by: his wife Debbie Atencio; his children, Jonathan Atencio (Crystal) and Francine McGuire (Ty); his siblings, Raymond Atencio (Kathy), Martha Valencia (Steve), Velma Atencio and Yolanda Atencio; and his grandchildren, Alejandro Atencio, Catalina Atencio, Eli McGuire, Faire Bross and Wright Bross. He is also survived by many nephews, nieces, and cousins.
