He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Jose Barela and Rita Barela; his wife Inez; his daughter Kathleen Elwell; his son-in-law David Elwell; his grandchildren, David Elwell, Desiree Pengally (Israel) and Joleen Griego; his great grandchildren, Madison, Ryder Elwell and Zayvian Pengally; and his siblings, Max Barela (Lupe) and Florence Barela. He was also cherished by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
