It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ermelina Ortega of Albuquerque, New Mexico, born in Los Chavez, New Mexico, who passed away on December 31, 2020, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Saturnino Chavez Sr. and Loretta Chavez; and her siblings, Saturnino Chavez Jr., Pablita Benavidez, Agapita Zamora-Frazee, Lita Gabaldon and Mary Barreras.

She is survived by: her husband Alejo Ortega; her children, Alex Ortega Jr. (Andree), Vergie Vigil, Ray Ortega (Liz), Marlyne Monroy and Steve Ortega (Pam); her grandchildren, Adam Ortega (Melinda), Mallory Jenkins (Brian), Eric Ortega, Vanessa Vigil (Andre), Bubba Vigil (Krista), Angelique Ortega and Andrew Ortega; and her great grandchildren, Ashton Ortega, Austin Ortega, Grayson Jenkins and Sofia Vigil. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
