He was predeceased by: his parents, Bud Krout and Marion Krout; his sister Donna; his sons, Larry (Keri) and David (Jeannie); and his grandchild Alexi.

He is survived by: his daughters, Tami DeGolyer (Eric) and Jana Pierce (Bo); his wife Sally; his sister Neje; his brother-in-law Raymond Wheeler; and his nieces, Tami and Jana. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren.
