She is also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins; and a host of friends.

“Carla was my best friend in elementary school (Alameda). She would protect me from kids who were bullying me. She would come to my house to play. I moved away in 1982 to be a military wife & returned in 2013 to take care of my parents. I saw Carla in 2014 at Sprouts where I work and was so happy to see her I told her thank u for being so good to me. I will miss her smile and & hugs. I am so sad.
