Annette Louise Montoya Navarro Obituary
Annette Louise Montoya Navarro of Albuquerque died on April 5, 2022 at the age of 60. She was born to Caroline and Tom Montoya Jr. of Encino, New Mexico on November 21, 1961 in Albuquerque.
Annette is survived by her mother, Caroline Montoya; her husband Richard Navarro; her son Joseph Harrison; her daughter Jennifer Harrison and son-in-law Matt Atkins; her grandsons, Keith Harrison and Kacie Harrison-Atkins; her brother Philip Montoya; her sister Elaine and brother-in-law Dennis Prickett; her aunt Mercedes “Sissy” (Montoya) Peña; her cousins Chris and Bobby Peña; and many friends she considered family, including Henrietta and Ernie Garcia and Roberta Marez. She is predeceased by her father, Tom Montoya Jr; her aunt Fanny Montoya; her uncle Andy Peña; and her grandparents, Lucia and Tomas Montoya (Grandma and Grandpa Store), and Ethel and George Miller (Grandma and Grandpa Choo Choo).
She grew up in Encino and graduated from Encino High School in 1978. She received an Associate of Applied Science in Computer Information Systems from Albuquerque TVI and worked for NM Taxation and Revenue for 14 years.
Annette was a dedicated Dallas Cowboys fan. She loved riding on a Harley at motorcycle rallies and charity events. She displayed a large bear collection. She loved spending time back in Encino, and enjoyed working in her yard. Annette loved camping and happy hour! She enjoyed spending time with friends and family, and especially cherished being with her grandsons at home, in Encino, and when camping.
Funeral proceedings are planned beginning at 10:30 am on Saturday, April 23, 2022, in the elementary school gym at 427 Main Street, Encino, NM, with graveside service immediately following. A luncheon will follow in the Encino Community Center.
