He was predeceased by: his parents, Clifton Harold Kemp and Charlotte Lavella Kemp (Erwin); his brother Eugene Harold Kemp; his wife Diane Louise Kemp; and his stepsons, Steven McCann and Robert McCann.
He is survived by: his children, David L. Kemp (Carleen) of Kuna, Duane L. Kemp (Corrinne) of Switzerland and Karla D. Patterson (Mike) of Alamogordo, NM. He is also survived by six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
