She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward P. Hughes and Alma Irene Stroud Hughes; her siblings, Eddie Hughes and Patsy Brasher; and her daughter-in-law Gidget Pettey.
She is survived by: her husband Don Pettey; her children, Douglas Pettey, Raylene Cochrane (Eric) and Wendon Pettey (Alyssa); her sister Dean Hynes (Hayden) of Kingwood, TX; and her grandchildren, Sam Pettey, Wenona Cochrane, Oliver Pettey, Elizabeth Toño and Noah Pettey. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
