He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Encarnacion Olivarez and Manuela Olivarez (Flores); his wife Mabel Sandoval Olivarez; his children, Gloria Terrazas, Joe A. Olivarez and Geneva St. John; his grandchildren, Jesse Jr. Terrazas, Mario Jr. Maynez, David Lopez, Richard Lopez, Darvin St. John III, Gina Esparza and Stephanie Hierro; his son-in-law Freddy McGrath (Suwan); his sister Mary Sida; and his daughter Veronica Maynez McGrath. He was also cherished by several nieces and nephews.
