Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Joanne Vickery of Alamogordo, New Mexico, born in Clawson, Michigan, who passed away at the age of 89, on January 14, 2021. She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Jabe Cook Jackson and Grace Goodwin Jackson; her grandmother Cora Goodwin; her close friends, Nancy Blanchard, Jane Quigley, Century Twenty and Casa; her children, Debra Jo Vickery of Albuquerque, NM, Robert Steven Vickery and Kimberly Sue Byers (Michael) of La Luz, NM; her grandchildren, Schuyler Jo Vizcarra of Albuquerque, NM and Jacob Vizcarra (Kari) of San Diego, CA; her siblings, Nancy Schwarz of Portland, OR, Mary Brewer of Charlevoix, MI, Claudia Apfel of Barre, VT, Jon Jackson (Jean Craxton) of Missoula, MT and Jabe Jackson of Cedar, MI; her sisters-in-law, Barbara Greene of Montgomery, AL, Mary Elizabeth Troup of Dallas and Georgia; her brother Donald Jackson; and her husband Robert Vickery (Auburn University). She was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.
During this pandemic, Jo's children and her sister, Nancy were truly blessed to have been able to be with her at the end of her life.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Grace United Methodist Church in Alamogordo or the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association in Joanne's name.
