It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Helen Chavez of Alamogordo, New Mexico, who passed away on June 6, 2021, at the age of 72, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Monica Salcido-Sanchez and Estalano Sanchez; her husband Luis Gilbert Chavez Sr.; her daughter Jeanette Chavez-Paige; her grandson Elijah Chavez; her nephew Isaiah "Blue" Sanchez; and her sister-in-law Christine Sanchez.
She is survived by: her sons, Luis Gilbert Chavez Jr. (Peggy Kay Chavez) of Alamogordo, NM and Joe Ray Ramirez (Amelia Ramirez) of San Patricio, NM; her grandchildren, Luis Gilbert "JB" Chavez III (Isabella Patricia Chavez) of Alamogordo, NM, Ashley Chavez of Alamogordo, NM, Heaven-Leigh Chavez of Ruidoso, NM and Talisha Chavez of Ruidoso, NM; her great grandchildren, Unique Ramirez, Mason Ramirez, Riley Ramirez of Luis Gilbert, Chavez IV, Angel Chavez, Damian Gonzalez, Serenity Chavez-Ontiveros, Trinity Valdez, Cali Chavez and Lily Chavez; her siblings, Rebecca "Becky" Sanchez, David "Tamo" Sanchez and Jacobo Sanchez; and her pets, Baby, Sissy and Negrita.
