He was predeceased by: his former wife Regina; his son Harold Allen Tharp Jr.; his parents, Rev. Arch Allen Tharp and Louise Tharp (Stokes); and his brothers, James Allen Tharp (Joyce) and Chick Tharp (Ruth).
He is survived by: his wife Frances Tharp; his children, Gregory Allen Tharp, Mark Allen Tharp, Tracy and Bonnie Belknap; and his grandchildren, Cecilie Barth, Nathan Tharp, David Belknap, Jonathon Belknap, Matthew Belknap and Breanna. He is also survived by five great grandchildren, step grandchildren along with numerous nieces and nephews.
