He was predeceased by: his parents, Dr. Frederick C. Irving and Mary Chapman Irving; his siblings, Frances Haskell, Mary Irving, Rebecca Irving and Frederick C. Irving, Jr.; and his wife Frances Winslow Irving.
He is survived by: his children, John W. Irving of Toronto, Canada, Pamela N. Irving, Sara C. Irving of Alamogordo and Steven C. Irving of Venus, Florida.. He is also survived by three grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
