He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Edward Smith Sr. and Irma Ida Smith; and his sister Patricia E. Vitale. He is survived by: his wife Claire; his daughter Kathleen Lombardo (Smith); his son-in-law Michael Lombardo; and his grandchildren, Caleb Louis and Abigail Grace Lombardo.
