He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Jack Horta and Doris Horta; and his brother Michael J. Horta. He is survived by: his wife Laura Horta; his parents, Edwin Horta and Patricia Horta; his friend Elvia Horsfall; his children, Emily Horta (Nicole) and Anthony "AJ" Horta, Jr. (Stephanie); his siblings, Edward Horta (Sonia) and Melissa Emde; and his nephews, Michael Anthony "Mikey" Horta, Edward "Eddie" Horta, Daniel Horta and Edward "Cinco" Emde. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and co-workers.
