He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Hitchner and Stella Hitchner (Rowena); his wife Dolores J.; his son Michael Brent; and his brothers, Bruce and John.
He is survived by: his daughters, Ann Beecher (Michael), Peggy Shallcross (Steve), Linda Serata (Mark) and Sue Kernan (Kernie); his grandchildren, Lindsey Good (Jonathan), Christopher Serata (Sarah), Matthew Serata (Caitlin), Nicholas Serata, Devan McAllister (D. J.), Nathan Shallcross, Tanner McAllister (Olivia) and Liam Beecher; his great grandchild Samuel Barrett; his siblings, Helen Sickler, Betty Anne Dolson, Charles Hitchner, Arlene Coleman, Stella Williams (Donald), Mary Lou Catania, Alberta Simkins (Karl) and Gary Hitchner (Shirley); and also, Alison Caruso and Debbie Davis.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made in William's memory to the Pittsgrove Presbyterian Church, 312 Daretown Road, Elmer, NJ 08318.
