He was predeceased by: his son Rodman W. Hess; and his niece Gracie Bolopue. He is survived by: his wife Barbara A. Hess; his daughters, Katherine Hess and Elizabeth Hess; his sister Sandra DiLeo; and his nephew Michael DiLeo. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
