She was predeceased by: her parents, Willie Cox and Esther Cox; and her brothers, Willie Cox Jr., Abdur R. Wali Sr., Noah "Bo" Cox (Benzina), Luther "Richard" Cannon Cox (Lee) and Jimmy Lee.
She is survived by: her sisters, Ida Ruth Daniels, Carolyn "Faye" Tyler and Brenda Jackson; her daughter Sameerah "Scooty" Cox of Long Branch, NJ; her grandchildren, I'meera Coston-Cox of Long Branch, NJ, Mia Coston-Cox of Long Branch, NJ and Elijah "Mello" Howard of Long Branch, NJ; her siblings, Arthur Ray Cox (Julene) of Greenville, NC and Annie Cox of Long Branch, NJ; her siblings-in-law, Jamilah Wali, Betty Cox of New Haven, CT, Aulander Daniels Sr. of Long Branch, NJ, Rodney Tyler of Long Branch, NJ and Bennie "Malik" Jackson of Long Branch, NJ; and her close friends, Evonne "Pep" Reevey and Aaliyah Wali. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
