He was predeceased by: his spouse Nicolina; and his sibling Paul Materia. He is survived by: his children, Decon Frank Materia (Kathy), Peter Materia (Ethel), Michael Materia (Elaine) and MaryAnn Dellosa (Nick); his grandchildren, Christopher, Donna Materia, Ariana, Marli Dellosa, Kristen Materia and Keith Maklary; his great grandchild Olivia Maklary; and his siblings, Mildred Spirito, Lawrence Materia and Donald Materia.
