She was loved and cherished by many people including: her husband Frank; her son Robert Gilbert (Eileen) of Windsor, Conn.; her granddaughters, Brianne Gilbert, Faith Burns (Evan) and Christianna Gilbert; her cousins, Carol Laufer (Barry) of North Carolina and Linda Laukaitis (Robert) of Cranford, N. J.; and her friend Laverne Biunno.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Shirley may be made to the Memorial Fund of the Old First Church in Newark.
