She was predeceased by: her parents, Carrie B. Boston and Fred Weston; and her siblings, Jacqueline L. Weston, Leisha Boston and Randy Weston.
She is survived by: her husband Latif E. Muhammad; her sons, John and Andre Weston; her stepson Shamsideen Bacon; and her siblings, Johnnieve Weston, Carla Young and Vernon Boston. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, five great grandchildren.
