With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Derrick Loville Jones in Willingboro, New Jersey, born in Halifax, North Carolina, who passed away on July 11, 2021 at the age of 49. He was predeceased by: his parent Eunice Jones Avent; his grandparents, William H. Jones II and Mary Lucille Jones; and his uncle William "Willie" H. Jones, III. He is survived by: his foster brother Tion Thompson of Philadelphia, PA; his close friend Inga Brown of Burlington, NJ; his aunts, Connie "Shirley" Hawkins of Roanoke Rapids, NC, Rosa "Rita" Squire of Brooklyn, NY and Virginia "Ginny" Whittington (John) of Willingboro, NJ; his uncle Robin Jones of Roanoke Rapids, NC; his great-aunts, Lilly Garner of Roanoke Rapids, NC, Dora Garner of Roanoke Rapids, NC, Laura Putney of Roanoke Rapids, NC and Ethel Williams (Noah) of Trenton, NJ; and his great-uncle Charles Jones of Trenton, NJ. He is also survived by cousins, other relatives and friends.
Because of Covid-19, all CDC guidelines will be followed by the wearing of masks, social distancing, and limiting the number of persons in attendance.
