She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Hermann Kuhl and Katie Kuhl; her former husband Rev. Henry Schell; her husband Rev. Paul Smith; her children, Mark Schell (Nancy), Karen Houser (Mark), Dwight Schell (Melissa) and Jennifer Kurtz (Dave); and her stepchildren, Barb Robinson (Mark), Becky Rochat (Paul) and Steve Smith (Carol). She was also cherished by seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
