He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred Fernandez and Gloria Fernandez; and his sister Alice Anne Fernandez Brookhart. He is survived by: his children, Nicole Fernandez (Jacob Tanner), Danielle Alessi and James Alessi, Jr. (Debra); his siblings, Donna Fernandez Zanine (late John Zanine) and Al Fernandez; his niece Laurie Zanine Moore (Jarred); his nephews, Joey Fernandez and Michael Zannie (DeeDee); his great-nieces, Olivia Fernandez and Lilian Moore; his great-nephew Carl Moore; his granddaughters, Allie, Addie, Ani and Abbie Alessi; and his close friend James Alessi (Maureen Sheehy Fernandez).
