She was predeceased by: her husband Emil J. Unger; her parents, Walter Schmidt and Irene Schmidt; her sister Erica Brzuszkiewicz; and her stepgrandson Lawrence Imbro.
She is survived by: her sister Lenore Sullivan; her daughter Ruth Imbro (Lawrence); her grandchildren, Jaime Hamilton, Heather Whitaker and Anthony Ferrano; her stepgrandchildren, Lacey Imbro and Drew Imbro; her great grandchildren, Mila Ferrano and Faith Imbro; her nieces, Donna Sullivan (Eric Schoenhoeff) and Laura McGinn (John McGinn); her great-nephews, Jack and Michael McGinn; her nephew Marc Brzuskiewicz (Leslie Brzuskiewicz); and her great-nieces and great-nephews, Annabella and Eric. She is also survived by cats who now serve as cherished companion animals.
