He was predeceased by: his mother Mary Kurtz Gillissie; and his daughter Donna Gillissie Cross. He is survived by: his wife Catherine; and his daughters, Denise May (Keith), Amy Geisendaffer (Robert) and Jennifer Pampalone (John). He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
