He was predeceased by: his father Edward Murphy Mangold; and his wife Joan. He is survived by: his sons, Edward, Robert and Donald; and his grandchildren, Sarah, Matthew, Edward IV, Tiffany and Adam. He is also survived by six great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the Whiting Bible Church or the Brick Township Historical Society.
