He was predeceased by: his parents, John Sullivan and Delia Sullivan (O'Toole); his son Bill; and his siblings, Sylvester (Claire) and Mary Ellen Burbridge (Jack).

He is survived by: his wife Margaret "Peggy" Sullivan (Green); his children, Kathleen Hopfel (Ken), Thomas M. Jr. (Joyce), Anne Sullivan (Jeffrey Vermeulen) and Richard (Nancy); his grandchildren, Barry Hopfel (Bess), Thomas III (Jenna), Maranda DeLorme (Gary), Devin Hopfel (Branden Brown-Hopfel) and Jeffrey Sullivan (Marta Sliwa); his great grandchildren, Jase DeLorme, Joseph, Daisy, Nicolette and Sonny Sullivan; and his brother John "Jack" Sullivan, Jr. (Gail). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Thomas' name can be sent to the Alzheimer's Association.
