He was predeceased by: his parents, Benjamin Hecht and Edna Hecht; and his sister Barbara Pere. He is survived by: his wife Gale Hecht; his children, Lindsay Lafferman (Chris) of East Hanover, NJ and Jason Hecht (Michelle McCoy) of Asheville, NC; his grandchildren, Ozzy, Ryder and Jordan; his brother-in-law Ronald Pere (Bernice); his nieces and nephews, Joy Nearpass (David), Glenn Pere (Marci), David Pere (Julie) and Kerri Dalessio (Noah); and his pet Maggie.
