It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Elveta Demby of Wharton, New Jersey, born in Sumter, South Carolina, who passed away on April 11, 2023, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Nelson Smalls and Sarah Smalls; her husband John Demby Sr.; and her son John Demby III. She is survived by: her children, Stanley Demby (Andrea) of Wharton, Clayton Demby (Brenda) of Homestead, FL, Caroline Demby of Wharton and Jennifer Demby of Wharton; her grandchildren, Desma Demby-Llamas (Gabriel), Andre Watkins, Michael Demby (Gabrielle), John Demby IV and Troy Stevens; her great grandchildren, Christian, Isaac, Esteban, Aiden Llamas, Genevieve Demby, Troy III and Jaxon Stevens; her siblings, Dorothy Rivers and Clement Smalls (Sadie); and her friends, Lorraine King and Sue Haynes. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
