He was predeceased by: his wife Patricia Murtaugh; his child Kelly; and his parents, Margaret Murtaugh and James Murtaugh. He is survived by: his children, Chuck Murtaugh (Joanna), Steve Murtaugh (Barbara) and Jeannemarie Rambo (Glenn); his grandchildren, Amy (Eric), Nicole (John), Chase, Connor and Chloe; and his great grandchildren, Aaron, Charleston, Charlotte and Grace.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in his memory to the Westville Lions Club.
