Myron Howard Kesselhaut Obituary

Myron Howard Kesselhaut, 89, of Westfield, NJ passed away peacefully on December 24, 2022 after a long illness.

Myron was born on July 27, 1933 in the midst of the great depression to Rose & Max Kesselhaut. The family lived in Perth Amboy before moving to Newark where Myron was a proud graduate of his beloved Weequahic High School, class of 1951. Post-graduation, they moved to Maplewood and Myron continued on to Fairleigh Dickinson University. After receiving his associates degree, Myron joined the army as a cook & a medic in order to take advantage of the GI Bill. After an honorable discharge, he returned to FDU completing his bachelor’s degree in Hotel/Restaurant Management.

He worked for McGraw Hill, as an award-winning Salesman for their Dodge Reports, Construction Division and owned & managed real estate in Newark and Bloomfield. He married Jacqueline (Turk) in 1960 and they moved to Westfield, where they started their family and lived happily for the next 62 years. He was an active and proud member of Temple Emanuel in Westfield for over 56 years. Myron retired in 1992 and began spending the winter months in South Florida with Jackie.

Myron’s legacy & spirit carry on in the lives of his loving wife of 62 years, Jackie (Turk) and his adoring children & children in law -- Lori (Steve) Schwartz, Leighsa (Mark) Glickman and Steven (Deborah) Kesselhaut. He was a devoted & doting grandfather to Zachary, Noah, Alex, Ava & Jake. He is also survived by his siblings Martin (Arlene) Kesselhaut, Arthur (Beverly Rausch, of blessed memory) and Edna (Dr. Martin Siegel, of blessed memory) Siegel. He was a beloved cousin, uncle, great uncle and dedicated, lifelong friend to many.
He will be deeply missed by everyone that knew and loved him!

“It's been 3 weeks today dad and I still can't believe that you're gone. I sat at your desk today - I never realized how organized you were! Now I know where I get it! We all miss you so much. I know that you'd be mad and tell me don't cry, this is just another part of life but it's still so hard to know you're not there. I hope you're nice & warm & have no pain at all. You were/are the best dad. I love you!”
