Marta Schreier (Nee – Marta Seagull) of Westfield, New Jersey passed away on March 30, 2020. She was 87 years old. Marta was born in Newark, NJ on March 2, 1933. She lived her youth in Newark on Wainwright Street and then Fabyan Place and graduated from Weequahic High School. She married Saul Schreier of Hoboken, New Jersey in 1952. They moved to Hillside on Belleview Terrace, raising three children. Marta was later divorced and continued to raise her children as a single parent. She lived most of her life in Hillside and Colonia, New Jersey. She raised her three children as a single mother in a time when it was uncommon to do so. Marta played and taught classical piano music to students for many years. A talented artist, she had a passion for painting, drawing and writing. She loved her family, animals and nature. She is survived by her three children: Sheri Schreier Rose, Jeffrey Schreier and Daniel Schreier; son-in-law James Rose; daughters-in-law Denise Schreier and Blanca Schreier; and five grandchildren, Jason Rose, Corey Rose, Colleen Schreier, Samantha Schreier and Jessica Schreier. A private family burial service was held on April 2nd at Mount Lebanon Cemetery in Woodbridge, NJ.
