It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Joyce M Sauer (Westfield, New Jersey), born in Elizabeth, New Jersey, who passed away on April 20, 2025, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

She was loved and cherished by many people including: her siblings, Jimmy (Chu), Joan (Al), Buddy (Eileen) and Jacqueline (Bill); her parents, Elizabeth Hoefling and James A Whelan Sr.; her husband Joseph John Sauer; and her children, Joanne (John), Nancy, Katrina (Shaun), Susan (Jim), Joyce (Jeff) and Joseph (Patty). She was also cherished by Oma by her Outlaws and 28 grandchildren and GiGi by her 4 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 25th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Higgins and Bonner Echo Lake Funeral Home (582 Springfield Ave, Westfield, NJ 07090). A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, April 26th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Genevieve's RC Church (200 Monmouth Rd, Elizabeth, NJ 07208). A burial will be held on Saturday, April 26th 2025 at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery (220 Mt Olivet Ave, Newark, NJ 07114).

Oma was not a fan of spending money on flowers, because of her beautiful heart, she would rather you donate to a charity of choice.
