He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Braxton, and Samuel Braxton, Sr.; and his siblings, Josephine Segars (Josie), Loretta Monroe, Samuel Braxton Jr. (Buster), William Braxton (WD), Gerald Braxton, Cornelius Braxton and Ernest Braxton.
He is survived by: his former wife Gladys M. Gilmer; his children, Bruce, Charles Braxton Jr. (Bruce), Van S. Braxton of Carlisle, Karen Braxton of Arlington, VA, Sonja Braxton Barnes (James Barnes) of Piscataway, NJ and Erika Braxton of Franklin Park, NJ; his grandsons, Shaun Braxton, Jarred Barnes, Van Braxton (Steven) and Michael Braxton; and his great grandchildren, Rockai, Asha and Amenye'. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
