She was predeceased by: her child Shan Prabhahar (New Jersey); and her siblings, Ponnambalam (Montreal) and Thuvarageswaran (Sri Lanka). She is survived by: her spouse Murugesu Shanmugarajah (Vaddukottai); her children, Ram Amarnath (Indianapolis) and Mano Shanmugarajah (New Jersey); her children-in-law, Naleni Amarnath and Nalayini Shanmugarajah; her grandchildren, Gururaj, Kartik, Shivaraj and Shrinidhi; and her siblings, Sarojadevi Kulasingam (London), Thiruthaneeswaran (Sydney) and Shanthidevi Pavalakanthan (Batticaloa).
