With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Carmel Portuese of West Orange, New Jersey, born in Orange, New Jersey, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Carmel left this world on October 16, 2024 at the age of 98, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. She was predeceased by: her parents, Pasquale Ippolito and Letizia Ippolito; her siblings, Mary Bilotti (Joseph), Thomas Ippolito (Elizabeth), William Ippolito (Minnie), Lena Grillo (Joseph), John Ippolito, Sr. (Marie) and Jo Ann Carlone (John); and her husband Charles Portuese.
She is survived by: her children, Liz Banka (John) and Philip Portuese (Roseann); her grandsons, Phillip Jr. (Caitlin) and Andrew; and her great grandchildren, Luke and Charlie Portuese. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and many friends.
