He was predeceased by: his parents, Jean Berg and Gustave Van Den Berg; and his siblings, Ada May Mahn, Jean Lilman, Darlene Mahn, Gustave Van Den Berg and William Van Den Berg.
He is survived by: his wife Karin of Oak Ridge, NJ; his children, Laura Van Den Berg (Tim), Lisa Rugel (Franz) and Karl Van Den Berg (Amy); and his grandchildren, Jared Cooney, Julia Van Den Berg, Jake Van Den Berg, Matthew Rugel and Carolyn Rugel. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
