He was predeceased by: his parents, John Gurka and Anna Gurka; his wife Beatrice McColl; and his siblings, William, Joseph, John, Helen, Anna, Genevieve, Adele and Sophie.
He is survived by: his children, Linda Anglesea (Robert) and Edward Gurka, Jr. (Janet); his grandchildren, Robert, Melissa, Edward, III, Honore, Brian and Lauren; and his great grandchildren, Ellie and Edward, IV (Theo).
