She was predeceased by: her parents, Donald Bernat and Antoinette Bernat (Caiola); and her great grandchild Zoey. She is survived by: her husband Augustus "Gus" Gagis; her children, John Gagis (Judy) of Bernardsville, NJ, Dona Meringer (Jim) of Wayne and Judeth DeMonico (John) of Parsippany; her grandchildren, Elizabeth (Grant), Augustus (Bridget), Patricia (Huan Tran), Joseph (Emily), Lieutenant Commander Zachary (Micah), Abigail (Stephen), Donald, Emily (Matthew), Anna, Luke and Michael; and her great grandchildren, John Peter, Alessandra, Evelyn, Lyla, Chloe, Sarah, Callum and Theresa.
Visitation was held on Monday, March 31st 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Vander May Wayne Colonial Funeral Home (567 Ratzer Rd, Wayne, NJ 07470). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, April 1st 2025 at 9:30 AM at the same location. A funeral Mass was held on Tuesday, April 1st 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Our Lady of the Valley R. C. Church (630 Valley Rd, Wayne, NJ 07470).
