Brian P Lucas Obituary
Brian Paul Lucas, 53, of Wayne NJ, formerly of Monroe, NY, passed away at home surrounded by loved ones on Sunday, December 12, 2021.
Brian is survived by his daughters, Erika and Jessica Lucas and their mother, Lisa Lucas; his cherished partner Debbie Aiola and her daughter, Sam, whom he helped raise and regarded as a third daughter; His sister Jennifer Lucas; his aunt Susan Glasser and her husband Bill; and his aunt Jean Gsell, cousin Jeanine Levine and husband Seth. Brian was predeceased by his parents, Paul Brian Lucas and Doris [Lucas] Ferraioli.
Brian’s greatest joy was being a father and father figure to Erika, Jessica, and Sam. He never missed a game or performance, coached various teams, and took every opportunity to boast about all of their accomplishments, great and small. He was the “cool dad” with the Corvette, the best birthday party DJ, and a natural teacher. He prioritized his family above all else.
Much like his father, Brian was a gifted athlete. He attended college on a soccer scholarship and later was both a golf instructor and ski instructor. More recently, he developed a love of saltwater fishing, which he cultivated in his favorite place, Rockport, MA.
Throughout his life, Brian engaged people easily and made friends across all walks of life. As a talented chef, he and his partner Debbie enjoyed hosting friends and family often. Brian had a way of bringing people together and making everyone feel special.
Brian was a skilled writer, which served him well throughout his career in marketing. More recently, he shifted to a career in tech working as an IT professional at Quantum Technology Partners, which allowed his problem solving “MacGyver” skills to shine. He loved getting to know his clients and spoke fondly of the friends he had made.
Whether you knew Brian as an athlete, writer/ editor, teacher, rib guy, cool dad, neighbor, IT guy, party host, MacGyver, or colleague, he cared about all who called him a friend.
Family will receive friends on Sunday December 19, 2021 from 1:00 pm - 4:30 pm at the Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 113 South Farview Avenue, Paramus, NJ. Followed by a funeral service at the Funeral Home. We respectfully request that all guests wear a mask.
