He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Walter H. Atkinson II (Bud) and Joan Atkinson (Sailor); his wife Penny (NJ); his children, Rebecca Forsbrey (Gregg), Derrik Atkinson (Melissa) and Melanie Abel (Erik); and his grandchildren, Erik, Leo Forsbrey, Jack, Eviana Atkinson and Emma Abel.
Visitation was held on Saturday, November 2nd 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the First Presbyterian Church of Washington (40 E Church St, Washington, NJ 07882). A memorial service was held on Saturday, November 2nd 2024 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Rik's name to the American Cancer Society.
