With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Raymond Hengst of Washington, New Jersey, born in Rock Rapids, Iowa, who passed away on January 24, 2024 at the age of 96. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles "Tjitte" Hengst and Tena "Trijntje" Hengst; and his brothers, Lawrence, Peter and Harold.
He is survived by: his wife Peggy Hengst; his children, Eloise Cary (Michael), Leonard Hengst (Judy), Peggy Jean Hannema (Willem), Raymond Hengst (Connie), Linda Watters (Joseph) and Heather Tucker (Curt); his sister Elizabeth Vander Waal; and his grandchildren, Sean, Michael, Erin, Willem, Holly, Laura, Mary Lyn, Amanda, Joseph, Ryan, Curtis, Megan and Shanna. He is also survived by 13 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Association.
