She was predeceased by: her parents, Raymond and Helen Peters; her husband John "Butch" Dowhanik; and her brother Raymond "Smoke" Peters. She is survived by: her daughter Christina (Jefre Elrod Jr.) of Blairstown, NJ.. She is also survived by nieces, nephews and countless cousins.
Visitation was held on Saturday, February 1st 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Warren Hills Memorial (234 W Washington Ave, Washington, NJ 07882). A Mass was held on Saturday, February 1st 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Church of the Assumption (302 High St, Hackettstown, NJ 07840). A burial was held on Saturday, February 1st 2025 at 1:30 PM at the Greenwich Cemetery (15 Greenwich Church Rd, Stewartsville, NJ 08886).
